Already have the RFID mug from last trip, can they be reloaded for our next trip at a discounted price, or do I just buy another mug? I would rather recycle them instead of tossing them.

    Hi Marsha!

Yes, it is true that over the summer of 2013 Disney has instituted a new refillable mug system in all the Walt Disney World Resorts, called Disney Rapid Fill. The plastic refillable mugs for this new Rapid Fill system have an RFID chip in the bottom of them. Guests can purchase 1 day, 2 days, 3 days, or length of stay packages for their Rapid Fill refillable mug. Also new with this Rapid Fill system is that you can refill them at any Walt Disney World Resort. You can bring an RFID mug from a previous trip and have it reloaded for your new vacation (as long as the RFID chip is still working--make sure that the mug hasn't been heated in a microwave), but the price will be the same as if you purchased a new Rapid Fill Mug so if it were me, I would just purchase a new mug on each trip. I like to keep my refillable mugs as souvenirs of my Walt Disney World trips and when I use them at my home because they remind me of Walt Disney World.

I hope that your next Walt Disney World vacation is truly magical in every way!

    Keep Dreaming Big!
