Hi Becky! Thanks for stopping by planDisney! We love having fellows Guests over to our little corner of the magic.
With your park day just around the corner, let's jump right into your question! I know many Guests are returning to the magic for the first time since the
theme park reservation system was put in place, so you came to the right spot for some tips! To enter those park gates, each Guest is required to have both a
theme park ticket and a theme park reservation. The good news is that as part of the ticket purchase process, you will need to select a date for your reservation, so both can be done at once! The ticket gains you entrance to the park while the reservation helps the Disneyland team to know how many people to expect each day. This was initially put into place to help maintain the health and safety of all Guests and Cast Members. Reservations are limited and subject to availability, which I'm guessing might be the hold-up to purchasing those two extra tickets. I took a look at the
theme park reservation calendar, and it does look like, as of today, there are no reservations available on October 7th for Park Hopper or One Park Per Day tickets. This means that currently, anyone looking to buy tickets would not be able to make a reservation for that date. I know this is not the news you were hoping to hear, but I do have a few tips to share!
One bright spot in this scenario is that Guests are always canceling and rescheduling their plans, and the theme park reservation calendar updates with these changes. If you continue to keep your eye on the calendar, reservations may pop up! Be sure to toggle between the One Park Per Day and Park Hopper calendars, as they each have their own set of reservations, so one might have availability while the other may not.
I'm not sure if you are planning to stay overnight or are already Guests of a
Disneyland Resort Hotel, but these Guests also have access to a different set of reservations. Currently, there is availability on October 7th for Disneyland Resort Hotel Guests! For your additional family members to access these reservations, they would need to have the hotel reservation linked to their account. To do this, have them open the
Disneyland Mobile App and head to the menu icon in the bottom right-hand corner. From here, tap on "My Hotel Reservation" where they can add their reservation number, last name, and arrival date. Once that's in place, they should be able to purchase a ticket for October 7th, if reservations are still available for hotel Guests!
I'm sending some pixie dust your way in the hopes that those reservation calendars open up for you. With a little faith and trust ... fast fingers and diligent refreshing ... I'm hoping you will all be reunited at the Happiest Place on Earth next week! If you have any other questions about your planning, please know that we are always here for you at
planDisney.
Never stop dreaming,
Tara
