I already purchased 1 day park tickets but do not have which theme parks we want on the days we will be there. How do I set that up?

    Hi Kari!

Welcome to planDisney!  It looks like you're planning a trip to The Most Magical Place on Earth during one of the most magical times of the year!  Even if certain events like Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party may have ended, you should still be able to see beautiful decorations and enjoy the holiday feeling all around you.  If you plan on spending New Year's Eve in the parks, my panelist friend Prince recently answered a question about ringing in the new year at EPCOT.  You'll also want to keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog in the weeks ahead for announcements about holiday plans for this year!

Kari, it sounds like you have purchased date-based tickets for your visit to Walt Disney World Resort.  This means that when you selected your tickets, you entered an arrival date and purchased them to be used over a set number of days.  As of January 9, 2024, guests with date-based tickets no longer require theme park reservations to enter the parks.  However, other types of tickets and annual passes currently still require theme park reservations.  If you do have a ticket that requires theme park reservations, you can always view reservation availability online.

The final two weeks of December through the first few days of January can be a busy time at Walt Disney World Resort, so I wanted to share a few time-saving tips to make the most of your visit.  I recommend heading to the parks early and planning to stay for the day as theme park admission is always subject to capacity limitations.  If you're a guest staying in the Disney Resorts Collection, don't forget that you can take advantage of your Early Theme Park Entry benefit to secure your place in the park and get a jump start on your day!  Your My Disney Experience Mobile App will also be a great tool to help you plan and save time during your visit.  Through the app, you can use the Mobile Food and Beverage Ordering feature to reduce your time waiting in line at many Quick-Service dining locations.  You are also able to purchase Individual Lightning Lanes and enter Virtual Queues on the app.  Another option to help manage the crowds is purchasing the Disney Genie+ service and utilizing Lightning Lanes when possible throughout the day.

Kari, I hope this helps you plan for a magical visit to Walt Disney World Resort!  Please stop by and see me or my panelist pals here at planDisney again if you have any other vacation planning questions!
