Hi Yliana!
Welcome to planDisney! It's my pleasure to help a fellow Texan plan their vacation to The Happiest Place on Earth!
One of the teased items at the last
Destination D23 Celebration event in the fall of 2021, which is like the ultimate fan club for those hashtag DisneyAdults who are super fans of Disney Parks, was that MagicBands+ were coming to Mickey's West Coast house,
Disneyland Resort! Sadly we didn't get an exact date, we just hEARd 'sometime next yEAR'. There could still be time between now and your visit, but that possibility is looking less and less likely.
However, there are still a lot of cool things that you can do with your smartphone (or even your smartwatch!) at Disneyland Resort, like
open the door to your Disneyland Resort Hotel room or serve as your
Disneyland Resort Theme Park Admission Tickets. (Your tickets can be found both in your
Disneyland Mobile App but can also be saved to and used from your digital wallet.)
Mobile Food and Beverage Ordering is very neat and super convenient, especially if different members in your group want different things; you can place multiple orders to be picked up around the same time and have sort of your very own 'Taste of Disneyland.' But my new favorite feature is
Merchandise Mobile Checkout, which skips the checkout queues. It's almost too easy to shop 'til you drop now!
One of the best features about MagicBands at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, in my opinion, is being able to scan your band to pay for something. You can still kind of do that at Disneyland by loading a
Disney Gift Card or credit card into the mobile wallet on your smartphone or smartwatch. It's not as seamless as using just the Disneyland Mobile App, but it works pretty much the same way.
I'm so sorry that this fun feature won't be up and running quite yet, Yliana, but hopefully by your next visit to Mickey's original house. Be sure that you've made your
Park Pass Reservations as those are now needed to enter the theme parks in addition to your admission tickets. And definitely check out and follow the
official planDisney Panel Instagram account where we share all kinds of tips and tricks. And if you have any more
Disneyland Resort vacation planning questions, We're All Ears!
