Hello there, Vivian. Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question.
I too am looking forward to the "Most Magical Celebration" celebrating the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World. The celebration is set to run for 18 months beginning on October 1st, 2021. I am also in the same boat as your husband and currently do not have a
Park Pass Reservation for Magic Kingdom Park on October 1st. While no announcements have been made, I do think that park capacity might be raised by then and we should see some park pass reservations become available. Also, as it gets closer to the actual date people's itineraries often do change and with that park pass reservations will too. My best suggestion to snag a park pass reservation for your husband is to keep checking often and frequently. If your husband is not able to secure himself a park pass reservation, unfortunately, he would not be able to join you and your daughter in celebrating in the morning at Magic Kingdom Park. However,
park hopping has officially returned to Walt Disney World at the start of this year and might be a way for him to get into Magic Kingdom Park later in the day on October 1st.
Here is how Park Hopping is currently working:
- Guests wishing to park hop must have valid theme park admission with the park hopper option
- Guests must make a theme park reservation for an initial park on the day or days they are wishing to hop
- Guests must scan in and enter the theme park with the park pass reservation before hopping
- Park hopping officially starts each day at 2:00 p.m.
- Park hopping is limited to park capacity limitation at this time
If there are no park pass reservations at Magic Kingdom Park available for your husband, he can always pick a different park to visit first. Once he enters that park and the clock strikes 2:00 p.m. he can hop over to Magic Kingdom and join you and your daughter in the celebration. Right now, this is also my plan for visiting Magic Kingdom Park on October 1st so I have my fingers crossed for both of us.
There is some great information that was just released about the 50th anniversary celebration on the
Disney Parks Blog and on the Walt Disney World website. There is actually a
get more information button as it's released that you can sign up for if you scroll down on the page a little bit. I actually just added my email address to subscribe and think it would be a good idea for you to do too. Maybe they will release more information in the coming months about park pass reservations.
I really do hope your husband is able to join you in the morning at Magic Kingdom Park on the kick off day of the celebration, Vivian. If not, I think park hopping is a great option to consider for him. If you have any other questions before your trip,
I am always here to help!
Have fun!
