Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney, Sara!
Like you, I'm someone who likes to book a Walt Disney World Resort vacation
way in advance –– it gives me plenty of time to dream up all those details and coordinate a plan for a trip that's practically perfect in every way. I'm so excited to hear that you're already planning your upcoming visit for May 2023!
But while we planners might love to book as early as possible, I know how frustrating it can be when a great deal comes along after the fact –– that's why I'm happy to report that if you book a Walt Disney World reservation or vacation package and a
special offer becomes available later, you're welcome to apply that discount or offer to your existing reservation. Often, you can even do this right from your My Disney Experience account. All you'll need to do is visit the Walt Disney World website and select "My Plans" under the "My Disney Experience" tab. From there, just locate your reservation and click the "Modify Reservation" link –– you'll be able to modify your existing reservation to include any available special offers. If you're not seeing a discount or promotion that you think should be there, you can also add a special offer to your reservation by calling the
Disney Resort Hotel Reservations Line at (407) 939-1936. Also, keep in mind that many special offers and discounts often have limited availability, so as soon as you see a special offer become available, you'll definitely want to jump on the website or call to modify your reservation as soon as possible.
Speaking of reservations, there are a few more items you'll also want to put on your Disney to-do list as your visit gets closer. Once you've purchased your theme park admission, you'll also want to make your theme park reservations using the
Disney Park Pass system. Lately, theme park reservations have been filling up several weeks before a given date, so I recommend doing this as early as possible for the best availability. Believe me, there's nothing
less magical than securing a dining reservation for Be Our Guest Restaurant, only to find out that reservations for Magic Kingdom Park are full (I learned this the hard way!).
And since we're talking about dining, I also recommend making a few
advance dining reservations as soon as your dining window opens. As a
Disney Resorts Collection hotel Guest, you'll be able to make dining reservations beginning 60 days before check-in, for your entire length of stay (up to 10 days). Not only is this a great way to enjoy a wonderful meal, but it's also a perfect opportunity to beat the heat and recharge before heading out for the rest of the fun you have planned.
I'm so glad you stopped by planDisney, Sara. If you think of new planning questions as your Walt Disney World Resort visit gets closer, please don't hesitate to drop in again –– we're always here to help!
