You have already given me good advice once...let's try for some more. We are currently booked at the Wilderness lodge. Is this a good choice for my 9 year old autistic son or would it be better to change to a hotel on the monorail?

Hi Eric! Thanks! I'll be happy to give you my advice once more. Given your son's age I would opt to keep the reservation at Disney's Wilderness Lodge. This resort has a generally peaceful and very relaxing atmosphere. The beautifully landscaped grounds offer a serene oasis from the bustling theme parks. While the resort is not on the monorail line, it is generally less expensive than the monorail resorts. Furthermore, you will have access to a boat launch with direct service to Magic Kingdom, as well as, bus service to the other Disney theme parks.

If your heart is set on a monorail resort, I would recommend either Disney's Polynesian Resort or Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa over Disney's Contemporary Resort. The latter can be very busy and loud at times which might prove overly stimulating for you son. However, if he loves trains, or isn't particularly affected by sensory overload, the Contemporary Resort might be the ideal resort for your family as the monorail runs directly through the main lobby area. The same area is also home to a counter service restaurant, two table service restaurants, a gift shop, and an arcade. As I said, it can get busy!

Regardless of what you ultimately decide to do concerning accommodations, I'm certain your entire family will experience a memorable and very enjoyable visit to the Walt Disney World Resort.
