Ahoy, Barbara! Welcome to planDisney. If you have completed your online check-in, your cruise is getting close. There is not much left to do but pack and start dreaming of waving to the port at the sail-away party. So fun!
It sounds like your family has grown up with
Disney Cruise Line vacations, just like mine. I just completed the online check-in for an upcoming cruise and remembered the screens for checking in my children, something I no longer do as they are now teens. As you remember, you can register your young ones for children's activities before you board, saving time on the ship. This is for children who will be enjoying
Disney's Oceaneer Club or
Disney's Oceaneer Lab.
If your tween or teen is heading to
Edge or
Vibe, you do not need to register them before the cruise. I always stop by with my kids during Open House on the first day. It is a chance to meet the counselors and make sure they have them on the list. When my kids have gone to Edge, they have been given a sticker for their Key to the World card. For Vibe, my teen got a new Key to the World card that showed he was a Vibe kid.
With Edge and Vibe, teens and tweens can pop in and leave as they wish. My kids have the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator App on their phones, so we can chat during the cruise. I love the independence it gives them to be able to enjoy the clubs, head to a movie, or message us to meet for a rousing game of shuffleboard. As long as they let us know where they are, they get to explore the ship and choose how to spend their day—our only hard rule: no pools without us. And I don't even ask them how many ice cream cones they enjoyed. It's vacation, and some secrets are especially fun to keep.
I hope you all have a grand adventure aboard the most magical ship at sea. If you have any other questions, please sail back by
planDisney. You've got a friend in us!
SEA 'Ya Real Soon!
