Hiya Megan!
Welcome to planDisney! The
Kid's Special Ticket Offer that was just released is pretty amazing. Both of my kids currently fit in the valid age range of 3 to 9 and I'm sorely tempted to visit asap to use it!
Unfortunately, your tickets cannot be refunded, exchanged, or adjusted. There is only a provision for a ticket to be "upgraded" which won't work in your situation. I don't know what kind of ticket you originally purchased but if it has an extended expiration date maybe you can "save" that ticket for a trip later in the year. Just check your emailed confirmation page to verify the date and consider the possibility of doubling the fun next year by going on two trips!
I can see how not having that large ticket savings can be disappointing. I want to share that while this may not be the news you are looking for I want you to know there are other ways we could find some savings for you on your upcoming trip. The
Disney Parks Blog goes over several including bringing your snacks, reusable water bottles, and strollers. I am all about
bringing snacks for kids (and myself) everywhere I go. The snacks that we enjoy the best on Park days are muffin bites, mandarins, and granola/fruit bars. These tend to last well in our Park bags and are family favorites.
Make sure to book your
Theme park reservation as soon as possible as this deal will ensure many people will want to join in on the fun. Right now both Parks look to have availability during your arrival but I would not risk waiting too long. Dates have been starting to fill up consistently the last few weeks and I would not want your family to miss out.
I hope that you still have a magical time making some great memories with your family!
Happy Planning!
