I have already bought tickets, and reserved a day to go. However, I just realized we may need a government-issued ID. Some of the people we are going with are minors, or just turned 18, and do not have a drivers license. What should I do?

Greetings Danise, and thanks for stopping by planDisney

I can’t believe it’s almost time for the historic reopening of the Disneyland Resort theme parks. You must feel like Princess Anna on her sister’s coronation day. Finally they’re opening up the gates! And while some things never change, like the feel of a Mickey Premium bar in my hand, there are a few new protocols to keep in mind when you visit next month.

During the initial phase of reopening, as per guidance from the State of California, only residents of the Golden State are permitted to enter Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. You must be logged into a Disneyland account associated with a California address when making theme park reservations for your party, and you will be asked to confirm that all members of your group reside in California.

While proof of residency may be requested upon arrival at the theme parks, younger visitors will not need to produce photo identification. Just to be on the safe side, I recommend the lead Guest on the theme park reservation bring something to affirm residency, like a piece of mail from a local school or organization.

I hope this is helpful, Danise. Best wishes as you kick off Olaf’s favorite season in the Happiest Place on Earth. Have a magical day!
