Greetings, Amy!
Welcome to planDisney! I am delighted to hear that the plans for your magical adventure are well underway. And having your son join you is sure to make this trip extra special! Let's go over adding someone to the fun when you have a package booked, so you can continue to plan the best trip ever.
This is a great question, Amy! There are a few things to keep in mind when it comes to adding your son to your plans. If you are looking to include your son in your hotel stay, he would need to purchase the same package that was booked with your initial reservation.
Example: If you have a package that includes four-day tickets and a
Disney Dining Plan, any Guest you add to your resort reservation would also be required to have the same package. If your son is hoping to meet up with you in the parks, but not be part of your resort stay, he can absolutely
purchase a 2-day theme park ticket! It is important to note that at this time
only Guests of a Disney Resort hotel can purchase a Disney Dining Plan. But this doesn't mean you cannot enjoy a dinner or two together! Guests joining you for a meal do not need to be on the same dining plan, and can choose to pay with traditional payment methods.
If you're hoping to all stay together, but still need different tickets, there are still options to consider! An additional room could be booked for your son, giving him the flexibility to choose the number of days he will need tickets and the Dining Plan that works best for his itinerary. You could also change your hotel reservation to a room-only stay, and purchase tickets separately. This would give each Guest the ability to choose the number of park days they would like. Making this change may require you to rebook your reservation. I recommend
contacting a friendly Cast Member with Tickets and Hotel Reservations to make these updates. I hope these tips help you determine the best plan for your Ohana!
We'll see ya real soon!
