Hey there, Caitlyn! Welcome back to planDisney. I'm happy to see you here again!
Caitlyn, I ran into this exact situation last year so I appreciate your question and hope I can offer some guidance. Depending upon the vacation package you have purchased and resort availability,
you may be able to add an additional night online.
First, you'll want to sign into your My Disney Experience account. Hover over "My Disney Experience" until you see "My Plans." When you click on "My Plans" you should be able to view your upcoming reservation. If eligible, you'll see a button to modify your reservation. Click modify to check resort availability. If you are able to add another night, you'll see the price difference added to your cart. From there, you'll be able to decide if you'd like to proceed with adding on an additional night. If you don't see a button to modify, you'll need to call and speak with a Cast Member about your account.
Caitlyn, last year when I was trying to add an additional night to my stay at
Disney's Pop Century Resort, the resort, unfortunately, had no availability. Since we were certain we wanted to arrive early, we decided to book our first night at
Disney's Art of Animation Resort and transfer. If you find yourself in a similar situation, know that Disney will
transfer your bags free of charge from one Disney Resorts Collection hotel to another! Just make sure to keep any "must-haves" like medication with you as sometimes the bags aren't available for a few hours. While some guests like to unpack once and set up their home away from home, I found extra fun in resort-hopping as I got to experience two properties in one trip!
I'll be wishing on a star that you can easily add on another night full of pixie dust and smiles. If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to come on back to planDisney! Just as Aladdin had the Genie to help make his wishes come true, we are happy to help you!
Lauren
