Hey Nicole-
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Last September my family made our “home” at Disney’s Contemporary Resort for my 40th birthday. Our theme park view allowed us to see both Wishes and Happy HalloWishes nighttime spectaculars. I went to bed smiling after seeing the fireworks and Magic Kingdom Park aglow and woke up smiling to Magic Kingdom Park framed by the rising sun. Every theme park view room gives you a clear view of Magic Kingdom Park and the fireworks. You may call 407-WDISNEY (407-934-7639) and speak with a Cast Member to request a higher room. The same request may be made when you do online check-in through
My Disney Experience. Once you are logged into your Disney account, click on My Disney Experience on the upper right hand side of the page. Choose “My Reservations and Tickets.” Where your hotel reservation is you will see "Online Check-In" in blue on the right side. Click there and enter your arrival and departure times, room requests and even enter a credit card to make charges to your room. Here you should choose Highest Floor as one of your two room request options. No requests are guaranteed but this is your greatest chance for a fantastic view.
Disney Dad Tip: After making the online and phone call requests I would follow up three days before your check-in date with another phone call. This one to verify they have your requests and to tell them how special it would to stay on an upper floor for the spectacular view. If you don’t have the view you want then head up to the
California Grill restaurant or lounge for dinner and catch the fireworks on the terrace or look through the floor to ceiling windows.
Enjoy making many Magical Memories as you ring in New Year 2017, Nicole!
