What should I take along with us into the parks? Traveling with 4 year old and 10 month old. Please help me make a packing list!

    Hi Holly,

I am the "bag lady" in my clan.  In fact, my "Disney Park Bag" (it has an official name) regularly weighs more than I do.  I'm not sure if that will make you happy or sad that I responded to your question!  Here are a list of my bag's "ingredients" (I included what I used to schlep when I had a 10 month old.)

    • Diapers, wipes and disposable changing pads
    • Sippy cups and/or frozen juice boxes
    • Bottles, formula
    • First Aide supplies (bandages, antibiotic ointment, infant fever reducer, teething medicine)
    • Binkies (pacifiers, or whatever you call these baby lollipops in your neck of the woods)
    • Hand sanitizer
    • Change of clothes in zip-top bags for each kid
    • Small pack of crayons and activity book for older child who gets cranky waiting on line
    • Portable DVD player (I told you I was nuts!) so husband and I can enjoy a peaceful lunch in the parks, mid-day.
    • Park tickets, wallet and ID (I keep these in a portable case I can wear around my neck, so that when we go on rides, I can leave the "big bag" in the stroller.)
    • Dry snacks to save on food in the parks and avert temper tantrums
    • Cameras (still and video)
    • Clip on fans (in the summer) to stick on the stroller
    • Rain ponchos that I pre-buy at the dollar store
    • Rain cover for my stroller
    • Sunscreen
    • Sunglasses
    • Hats for the whole clan

I usually leave my big bag hooked on my double stroller, so I don't lug it around all day.  Although, if I eat too many Mickey Bars, it's a great work out!  I also often carry a small soft cooler bag with snacks, water, etc.  I have picky eaters, and cheese sticks, yogurt, pretzels and juice boxes follow me everywhere.

I hope some of my ideas help you pack!
