Hi Chad!
I have experienced many tours at Walt Disney World, but
The Sense of Africa at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is one I have on my "to-do" list. The price for this tour is per person and includes tax and gratuity I have done quite a bit of research on it, for my own curiosity, and it's an in-depth animal encounter experience. The tour starts out at one of my favorite Walt Disney World restaurants,
Boma - Flavors of Africa. Trip reports I have read say they have fed giraffes and other animals and the tour takes you up close with Animal Care Specialists. I'm not sure of another tour that offers this much of a hands-on animal experience.
If you are looking for a less expensive option,
Caring for Giants at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park is a great tour and very affordable for the whole family. I took this tour this past November and found it very interesting. While you don't get super close to the elephants, you are taken to a platform closer than you would get on Kilimanjaro Safaris and learn a lot of great facts about Africa and the African elephants that call Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park home.
Fellow Disney Parks Moms Panelist, Crystal, recently took her family on the
Up Close with Rhinos tour and she loved it! They were able to touch the rhinos during this informative tour and she definitely recommends it for an affordable up close animal encounter.
Please stop back by with any additional planning questions.
Have a magical day!
