Aloha, we are traveling to WDW in mid July for 2 weeks and are wondering about how pin trading is happening in this crazy time of Covid? Most cast members used to have trading lanyards and some stores had boards of pins but much has changed... Mahalo

Aloha to you, Michael! It's great to see you hEAR planning a Magical vacation.

Michael, pin trading is one of my family's favorite activities and it's been fun to see what my kids love from one trip to the next. When my youngest started his pin trading adventure, he only wanted Daisy Duck and now he's more interested in Star Wars

I'm very happy to report that while the Walt Disney World Resort continues to focus on enhanced health and safety measures, pin trading IS still available at a number of locations in the parks (like Discovery Trading Company at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park), Disney Springs and select Disney Resorts Collection hotels.

On my family's most recent visit we found helpful signage that let us know just what to do. You will now find pins available for trading displayed on pin boards in lieu of lanyards. If you find pins you'd like to trade, you just need to let the Cast Member which pin(s) you would like. Then you'll drop yours (keeping your own back) into a box. Then a Cast Member will hand you the pin(s) you've selected (you may trade up to 2 pins per location).

Michael, I hope this helps as you're getting excited for your upcoming vacation. My family took comfort that this beloved activity is still alive and well at the Walt Disney World Resort and I hope it brings a touch of Magic to your trip. If you have additional questions, please come on back to planDisney.

    Wishing you a pixie-dusted stay,
    Lauren
