Aloha, Catherine!
Welcome Home, neighbor and welcome to planDisney. Mahalo for stopping by with your excellent question. Catherine, I am so excited that you are one of our newest neighbors at Disney Vacation Club. The benefits of your Membership will open up a whole new world of affordable vacation possibilities year after year. As a 20-year Member myself, I can tell you it has truly been our key to the world, to Disney and beyond.
Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa is just one of the amazing ways to use your Membership. It is one of my favorite Resorts, and in fact, I will be heading there myself for the third time with my teen and preteen twins this summer. There's no place I'd rather be than riding the Hawaiian roller coaster ride or watching one of those incredible Hawaiian sunsets over the horizon. Catherine, there are so many
exciting activities for teens at Aulani, it will be an amazing memory and graduation gift for your son and your 'ohana.
Here are just a few of the onsite activities at Aulani that your son and his friend might enjoy:
- North Shore Beach Zone - This fun-filled afternoon evokes the "North Shore" hang-out experience for teens.
- Sunset Mele - Teens are invited for a beach gathering of watching the sunset while listening to Hawaiian music.
- Beach Rentals - There is an assortment of boogie boards, snorkel sets, and paddle boards available for rent.
- Snorkel in Rainbow Reef - You can see indigenous fish up close in Rainbow Reef, Aulani's private snorkel tank, and see if you can find Hawaii's state fish, the humuhumunukunukuapua'a (or humu humu for short).
- Sailing Canoe Experience - Like Moana, you can enjoy a sailing canoe to explore Oahu from the sea.
- Day Trips - You can book day excursions at Aulani to explore all that Oahu has to offer such as a trip to the real North Shore, surfing lessons, movie tours, zip lining, and more.
Of course, teens also love just hanging out by the pool or enjoying a lazy ride in the
Waikolohe Stream. It's a great way to spend your day, especially while treating yourself to a Mickey-shaped shave ice!
Now let's talk about your special celebration. Catherine, right now, the in-room Gifts and Surprises remains suspended through Aulani. However, if you contact
Aulani's Guest Services, they work directly with three vendors - two florists and an edible decorations company - and can coordinate an in-room surprise for your son this way. Alternatively, the Resort will accept boxes from online retailers and some Guests like to have decorations shipped to the Resort that they can then set up themselves for the special occasion. I would also recommend celebrating with an evening experience not to be missed, the
KA WA‘A Luau at Aulani. This will certainly be a highlight of your trip.
I hope this is helpful for you Catherine. If you have any additional questions about your upcoming trip to Aulani, stop back and
see me at planDisney. Here, we are your Disney vacation planning 'ohana. 'Ohana means family, and that means nobody gets left behind.
Magically yours,
Keri
