Aloha! We are heading over on the busiest days (12/24 and 12/25) Got a 2 day hopper pass for 4 of us to get the most of our busy days there, but any tips on where we should start and what things we should NOT miss! I have a 14 Yr boy and 7 Yr girl. Mahalo!

    Aloha and happy holidays, Kristina!

Thank you for trusting us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel to help plan your visit to the Disneyland Resort. I’m so excited for you and your family to experience the "Merriest Place on Earth!" My very first visit to Disneyland was on Christmas Day. Ever since then, my heart has belonged to "Walt Disney's Original Magic Kingdom."

Let’s start with the fun seasonal things you can experience. I love visiting during the Holidays at the Disneyland Resort. You must experience the limited-time overlays on select attractions, such as Mater's Jingle Jamboree and Luigi's Joy to the Whirl in Disney California Adventure Park and Haunted Mansion Holiday in Disneyland Park usher in the holiday spirit in exciting ways. But my favorite and can't-miss holiday attraction is "it's a small world" Holiday. I highly recommend the "it's a small world" Holiday Lighting, which you can catch each evening.

My family’s favorite holiday treat this year is the Santa Hat Macaron from Jolly Holiday Bakery Café. My friend Michael Ramirez also wrote up a great guide to exploring the Disneyland Resort during the holidays using your five senses. Michael also has some great tips for maximizing your time during the holidays, including adding Disney MaxPass to your tickets and saving time at meals with Mobile Food and Beverage Ordering.

To make the most of your time, I recommend starting early. Attraction wait times are usually the shortest first thing in the morning. On a busy day, I would recommend arriving at the gates at least 30 minutes before park opening. Guests are often allowed to pass through the gates several minutes before the various lands open.

Tony's Tip: If you add Disney MaxPass to your tickets, you can make your first Disney FASTPASS selection even before the official park opening time. But you must have had your tickets scanned at the park entrance first.

I recommend choosing attractions based on the interests of your family. Our youngest daughter happens to be a thrill seeker. She loves attractions like Incredicoaster and Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! But if your family prefers gentler attractions, FASTPASS selections for Toy Story Midway Mania! and Haunted Mansion Holiday are great choices.

A nighttime spectacular is a great way to end a magical day at the Disneyland Resort. Both "Believe...In Holiday Magic" Fireworks Spectacular and World of Color – Season of Light and beautiful reminders of the joy of the holiday season.

I hope you have a magical time, Kristina!
