Aloha! We’re so excited for our first family trip to Disneyland this week! We’re traveling with 7, 6 and 4 year old kids. Anything you recommend we absolutely MUST do?

Aloha, Stacie! E komo mai and mahalo for visiting us at planDisney. Your ‘ohana must be so incredibly excited for your upcoming visit to the Happiest Place on Earth! I am honored to give you some tips for your visit.

Be sure to pick up complimentary "1st Visit" buttons at any Disney gift shop or a Guest Services location. You might get extra "welcome home" greetings and pixie-dusted magic from Cast Members as you stroll through the parks!

If you haven't already, download the Disneyland mobile app for helpful information at your fingertips. Even Moana as an experienced wayfinder likes using the app, as it helps her check wait times for attractions, entertainment schedules, Mobile Ordering windows, dining reservation availability, and much more.

I'm not sure if you have a Character Dining experience booked for your visit, but my kiddos loved these when they were the ages of your Mouseketeers and still love them now! If you don't see any availability, keep checking as reservations often become available as Guests' make last minute changes to their plans.

For the attractions your wee space rangers aren’t tall enough to explore yet, ask a Cast Member about Rider Switch, where one adult waits with the kids, then switches without waiting in line again. However, you'll be pleasantly surprised that many attractions do not have height requirements! Our latest favorite is WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure at the Avengers Campus, where you'll be recruited to help Peter Parker get the buggy Spider-Bots under control. Guess what, there is no height requirement on this attraction - recruits of all sizes welcome!

Perhaps my most important advice is to consider adding Disney Genie+ to your day. For Guests like your 'ohana who are visiting for the first time, I am sure you want to maximize the number of attractions you can experience. If you haven't already purchased the Disney Genie+ service, you can add it via the Disneyland mobile app once you have entered the theme park. Then you can book Lightning Lanes, which are faster queues to reduce your wait times. Another bonus with Disney Genie+ is complimentary access to Disney PhotoPass for the day, which gives you unlimited digital downloads of photos from that day. There are several Disney PhotoPass Photographers throughout the theme parks to take your family photos. Disney PhotoPass also includes the candid attraction photos which are fun moments to capture with your family! Oh, pack a portable charger, you'll be using your mobile phone a lot!

The enchanted look on your keikis' sweet faces is something you'll treasure forever. Have the most magical trip!
