Aloha, Virginia, and welcome to planDisney! I am so excited about the
Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration, which begins May 16, 2025 and runs through summer 2026. It looks like you'll be visiting just as the festivities kick off – it's sure to be a wondrous atmosphere!
Let's start with the theme, which is Celebrate Happy! The Disneyland Resort will be splashed with colorful decor and joyful touches, and Mickey, Minnie, and their pals will be dressed in new outfits for the occasion.
You'll be happy to hear that collectible merchandise has indeed been announced! The Disney Parks Blog
published an article about the anniversary, and near the end, a photo teases part of the collection – I see a stunning gold sparkly hat with Mickey ears and a festive glittery sweater in a gorgeous shade of blue. You can follow
Disneyland on Instagram, where merchandise will likely be revealed as the celebration gets closer.
The entertainment will be truly memorable, and there will be a lot of it! Here are some highlights:
- Paint the Night Parade: This is one of my favorite parades, literally painting the streets of Disneyland with the glow of more than a million colorful LED lights. Music fills the air as dazzling floats make their way along the parade route. If you see one thing, make it this!
- Wondrous Journeys: This beloved fireworks show honors the legacy of classic animated films with an amazing soundtrack. Bring some tissues, since this one may bring happy tears!
- World of Color Happiness: An all-new version of World of Color will come to California Adventure, bringing a new twist to the beloved water and projection show. The new version is inspired by Walt Disney's words on the opening day of Disneyland, which makes it extra special. Tissues may be needed here, too!
- Celebrate Happy Character Cavalcade: Mickey and his pals will make their way through Disneyland's parade route. The upbeat music will make you want to dance!
- Better Together: This fun parade will return to California Adventure with colorful floats and many friends from various Pixar films.
There will be many more magical touches throughout the Disneyland Resort, including projection effects, special food and beverage options, and more. I am counting down the days until this unforgettable celebration begins. I hope you and your Ohana will experience it, too!
