Can a 2 (almost 3) year old ride Rise of the Resistance? He’s tall (40”), loves Star Wars, and not afraid of a thrill. How does that work with the virtual queue, since he doesn’t have a ticket because he won’t yet be 3? If he can’t, is rider switch avail?

    Hi Ashley,

Thank you for taking the time to send your question to planDisney.  Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge is a must do for any Star Wars fan, even the smallest Padawan.

The only restriction for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is that guests must meet the minimum height requirement of 40 inches in order to ride.  You know your child best and if they enjoys Star Wars, he may be able to handle the attraction.  One thing to keep in mind is that while watching Star Wars on a screen may be ok with your toddler, seeing the characters and being immersed in the attraction may be a little more intense of an experience.  When my daughter was younger, we would love watching point of view videos of the attractions prior to our arrival in order for her to understand what she would experience when on an attraction for the first time.  This may be a good way for you to feel out if Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance would be suitable for your toddler.  Another option would be is to see how your toddler enjoys some other Star Wars attractions, like Star Tours - The Adventures Continue or Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run.  If your toddler enjoys those attractions, they may be able to handle Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.

For the virtual queue, your toddler will automatically be included with your party when your boarding group is called.  Simply head to the attraction and your little one will be able to battle against the First Order alongside the Resistance.  If you decide that the attraction may be too much for your toddler, don't worry, Rider Switch is available.

I hope that helps answer your question, Ashley.  Please let us know if you have any other questions as your Walt Disney World Resort Vacation approaches, we are always happy to help.
