My almost 3 year old broke her leg this week and will be in a long leg cast for 4 weeks. The doctor says she will be limping for a couple months. We are going to Disney in 6 weeks (September) I am worried standing and stroller use? We're at the Polynesian.

    Hi Amy!

I'm so sorry to her that your little girl is injured, I'm sending some extra hugs and pixie dust for speedy recovery!Navigating Walt Disney World might be a little more challenging, but Disney is great at making accommodations for guests.

You didn't say if you would have your own stroller or if you had plans to rent one while you are visiting. While the strollers available to rent at the parks are much better than their predecessor,I recommend renting with an offsite company so that you will have a stroller available for use outside of the parks as well.Magicstrollers.com and babywheelsorlando.com are great companies offering various sizes to make your daughter more comfortable in and out of the parks. These companies also offer delivery and pickup so that your stroller will be waiting on you upon arrival.

Visit Guest Relations to inquire about the Guest Assistance Card (commonly referred to as GAC).You will need to have your daughter with you and explain the situation to the cast member so they can help to assess your needs. The pass is good for up to 6 people within your traveling party, eligible for your dates of stay. Some assistance that might be helpful is the special waiting areas that will allow your daughter not be on her legs for any extended period of time.  When speaking to a cast member, make sure to be specific as to what accommodations you would like to help your stay be magical.Although it is not required, some guests prefer to bring a doctor's note to help explain the situation better.

Walt Disney World will tire out any three year old so be sure to take lots of breaks and rest during your vacation.Take advantage of different shows and attractions, such as Hall of Presidents, that will allow you daughter to rest her leg more frequently.

I hope this was helpful and please let me know if I need anymore advice for your upcoming trip!

    Best Wishes!
