Hi, Tiffany!
Welcome, and congratulations on your pregnancy! I’m thrilled that you’re planning a trip to the Happiest Place on Earth to make memories with your 2-year-old before the new baby comes. I visited the theme parks during various stages of pregnancy with my little ones, including a Fourth of July family vacation a month before I delivered my daughter!
I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised by how many attractions you’ll still be able to experience as a pregnant mom--I know I was when I was expecting! However, there are a handful of thrill rides in each theme park that pregnant women are advised to avoid. Visit the
Disneyland Resort website’s
Attractions page and select the Expectant Mothers Advisory box under the Accessibility & Advisories tab. This will generate a list of attractions you should not ride while pregnant in the interest of your and your baby’s safety. In general, though, most attractions that your toddler can experience are safe for you, too.
When I was pregnant and exploring the theme parks, it helped to build some downtime into our touring plan. We’d make sure to take breaks to enjoy a cool drink and snack in a shady spot. A grand circle tour on the
Disneyland Railroad offers about 20 minutes of shade and fresh air, with the added benefit of a relaxing, scenic trip around the park from the comfort of your seat. You can also ask for free cups of ice water at any quick-service restaurant to prevent dehydration and combat swelling from the time spent on your feet.
I hope this helps you plan, Tiffany! Please don’t hesitate to visit us again with more questions as your pixie-dusted vacation draws near.
Wishing you magic,
Courtney
