We almost always go to Disney during the summer months, but decided to go during cooler weather so we are planning a Jan or Feb 2011 trip. Does Disney historically offer any kind of discounts or specials during the winter/early spring months?

Hi Ashley! January and February are great times to visit Walt Disney World because the kids are back in school after the holidays and the temperatures usually drop a bit, so attendance is traditionally lower than other times of the year. Some things to note are that the Walt Disney World Marathon takes place from Thursday, January 6 - Sunday, January 9, 2011 and the Princess Half Marathon is Friday, February 25 - Sunday, February 27, 2011. In addition, several areas of the Northeast part of the country do have "February vacation" which takes place at various times in the month. Just something to keep in mind attendance-wise.

That said, historically speaking Disney has offered package discounts as well as annual passholder discounts during the months you are considering. Just keep an eye on www.DisneyWorld.com and also check out the Disney Parks Blog which does usually note special promotions.  I would start looking for any promotions for the new year to be announced around November. Of course you can always come back and ask us to check things out as well and see if we've heard of any upcoming deals.

Best of luck with your planning and please come visit us again if you have any other questions along the way! ~Suzannah
