    Hi All, We are coming in Dec 2014 and I had a couple questions about the magic bands. 1 Do they issue these to you when you check into your resort? or mail them prior to arrival? 2 If one of the kids lose theirs, what is the recovery process?

    Hi Dan!

    I do love MagicBands and all of the fun that comes with them.  You will be able to customize your MagicBands ahead of time, usually 60-90 days prior.  You can choose a color and a name to be imprinted on the back of the band.  Each member of your family can have a different color so it's easy to tell them apart.  If someone in your family loses theirs, head to the nearest Guest Relations.  They will need to deactivate the lost band and will issue you a new one, but it will be the standard gray band and without a personalized name.  A good tip is to take a picture of the back of all your bands so you have all of the numbers associated with the bands in one spot.  You can also find this information in your My Disney Experience account.

    No worries if your band is lost.  A secret pin code (chosen by you) is needed to charge anything to it and of course you must know what resort room number you are in to be able to open your door.
