Hi all!Trying to budget dining tips for our trip in Aug.Traveling w/DH,DS(10)&DD(8).We have the regular dining plan w/1TS.My ? is how much do we tip for dinner buffets? We are usually very generous but $ is tight this yr&I do not want to seem cheap.

    Hi Diana!

Welcome back and thank you very much for bringing your vacation planning questions to us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel.  We simply love helping plan Walt Disney World vacations and are honored to have repeat customers!

You have a very good question about tipping.  Since all of the buffets are table service, you should tip according to normal table service guidelines which are 18-20%.  To make calculations simple, these suggested amounts are printed at the bottom of the check that your server brings to you at the conclusion of your meal.  Also if you are on the Disney Dining Plan, the number of credits remaining will be listed on your receipt as well.

I have often felt that my servers at the buffets work harder to serve my family than at the other restaurants in which we order from a menu.  The servers at buffets bring our drinks, clear away plates each time we make a trip to the buffet stations, continuously refill beverages, make food recommendations and often times have doubled as a photographer for us.  I think you will be very happy with the quality of food and service you receive at the table service buffet restaurants.

Thank you again Diana for bringing your vacation planning question to us.  If you have any more questions, we would love to help answer them!  I hope you and your family have a MAGICAL vacation and make Pixie Dusted memories.
