Hello All, So I am completely new at this panel and WDW, I never been and am planning on going in late August or September to take my daughter for her 5th birthday..i hear out of all parks that Magic Kingdom is the best one by far. I need all info pls!

    Hi Vanessa,

Planning a first Walt Disney World vacation is exciting, but it can be a bit overwhelming. That's why we are here to help.

As you make your plans, you will need to decide:
    • Where to stay
    • What kind of tickets to get
    • Whether to book a dining plan
    • Where to eat
    • What kind of special events or experiences you want to plan.

I suggest taking the decisions one at a time to keep the process from seeming so huge. The free Walt Disney World vacation planning DVD gives an overview of the resorts, parks and attractions and is a great tool to assist you. You can order it on the Disney home page.

The summer crowds begin to thin considerably in late August and early September, so you have picked a good time. Often, Disney offers some great specials then, discounts on resort hotels and sometimes free dining. Check out the special offers link on the home page.

Once you figure out where you want to stay and what kind of tickets to get, then you can move on to specifics such as dining reservations, special events and a park itinerary.

You are correct that Magic Kingdom is the iconic Walt Disney World park. You certainly will want to see it for at least one day, but you also will want to consider all the great rides and attractions the three other parks offer.

Because it's your daughter's birthday, you will want to get her a free Happy Birthday button when you arrive. That will garner lots of good wishes when she wears it and can even spark some magical surprises. You also can plan a special celebration dinner or experience such as the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique.

I'm out of space, but I hope that helps you get started. Please write back for more info on specific areas of your vacation planning. We will do our best to help you make it a magical visit!
