Welcome to planDisney, Kayla! It's such a pleasure to answer your question today.
I'm so glad to be able to tell you that you are more than welcome to use
Disney transportation even if you're not staying at a
Disney Resort Hotel. It's complimentary and open to every single guest at Walt Disney World. Whether you're heading to a theme park, resort-hopping, or visiting Disney Springs, you're welcome to hop on Disney buses, monorails, boats, and the Skyliner at your leisure.
For your plan to eat at
'Ohana and head off to
Magic Kingdom, the monorail is the easiest, fastest option. The
monorail platform is steps away from 'Ohana on the second floor of the
Polynesian, so it couldn't be more convenient. You'll board, make one quick stop at the
Grand Floridian to pick up more guests, and then the next stop is Magic Kingdom. Once you're on the monorail, the ride itself is about five minutes or less; super quick! You'll also go through security screening before boarding, so you won't need to go through security when you arrive at the park. Just head straight to the entrance!
Prefer a breezy ride on the water? The
boat launch from the Polynesian marina also sails to Magic Kingdom. It's a lovely trip across Seven Seas Lagoon and typically takes around 10 to 15 minutes once you're underway, depending on the route and any brief sharing with guests from the Grand Floridian. Boats run frequently during the day, and Cast Members at the dock can confirm the next departure.
I hope this answers your question, Kayla, and please let us know if there's anything else we can do to help you plan your magical vacation!
