Are we allowed to set up a hammock between trees in the Disney parks for a nice reading spot?

    Hiya Nicole,

Welcome to planDisney! I’m so happy to hear that Walt Disney World Resort is your happy place too. I always feel like I’m at home when I visit. I’ve taken work conference calls from Batuu and even done a presentation on the Monorail. I used to love to tell people, “I worked from Disney today.”

Reading a book while at the Theme Parks sounds like a lovely way to spend the day. Unfortunately, you cannot set up a hammock in the Theme Parks, Disney Springs, or the Walt Disney World Resort Collection Hotels. There are quite a few spots at the Theme Parks that you might function as an excellent reading spots instead. I find no place more peaceful than Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. Something about the combination of animals and the large shaded trees always puts me at ease. If you head to the DINOSAUR attraction in Dinoland, USA, there is a little shaded pergola corner near the Gift Shop. It has these really cool fountains and beautiful vines that are incredible. I love taking my infant back there for a break from the heat and to take a nap because not many people know about it. It would be ideal for reading.

I hope this was helpful, Nicole. If you want more ideas for places to curl up with a good book, please come back and see me.

    Happy Planning,

    Ashley F.
