Am I allowed to ride the skyliner if I am not staying at a Disney Resort, and I do not have Disney World Tickets for that day? I just want to be able to visit a resort to eat and shop.

Hello Gina and welcome back to planDisney!

Up, Up and away in my beautiful Skyliner! My grandson treats the Disney Skyliner like his first ride before we even enter one of the theme parks!  When we are staying on Disney’s BoardWalk or anywhere near a Skyliner station, we are heading to the air for a ride in the sky!  His favorite game is to look at the approaching gondolas for his friends from the Star Wars universe! Right now, his favorite is Darth Vader, I know, he’s in the dark side stage of life at five years old!

Gina, you can find your favorite Disney friends on the gondolas too, even if you aren’t planning on spending a day in a theme park.  I’ve got a couple of options for you to get in the air and inside those magnificent flying machines! The first option would be to park at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and make that your base of operations for the day.  You could jump on the Skyliner and do some resort hopping to Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney’s Riviera Resort and even Disney’s Pop Century Resort and Disney’s Art of Animation Resort! You could even fly all the way to the International Gateway entrance of EPCOT and take a stroll on Disney’s BoardWalk! I suggest a slice of pizza pie at the Pizza Window while you sit down and watch all the activity on the BoardWalk!

The other option would be to make an Advanced Dining Reservation at one of the resorts located on the Skyliner route. As a Guest with a dining reservation, you would be able to park for a limited amount of time at that resort and if you timed it right, give you time for a quick flight in a gondola! If you were thinking this might be the way to go, I highly recommend Sebastian’s Bistro at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort.  It is one of the hidden gems of the Disney dining world!  The Taste of the Caribbean feast is all you care to eat, and it is so good! Make sure you save room for Coconut-Pineapple Bread Pudding; you’ll thank me later!

Gina, have a great adventure as you fly through the friendly skies of Disney!  Don’t forget to enjoy a Mickey Bar or two!
