Are you allowed to ride the monorail if you are not a resort guest and don't have the park hopper option? We have a breakfast at Chef Mickey's at 8:50 and want to park at MK and ride over. How early do we need to be at the TTC to get there on time?

    Hello Abigail!
I have great news for you!  All Walt Disney World transportation is free to all guests, whether you are staying in a Walt Disney World Resort or not!  This includes Monorails.  I have a confession to make sometimes when I am in Walt Disney World, I just ride the Monorail to ride it because I love it so much!

You can park your car at the Ticket and Transportation Center (the TTC), which is basically the parking lot for the Magic Kingdom.  Take a Tram from the parking lot to the TTC Monorail Station.  You will look for the signs to the Resort Monorail line.  Get on the Resort Monorail and it will be the 4th stop.  The Polynesian Resort, The Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, and Magic Kingdom are the 1st three stops on the Resort Monorail Loop.  After breakfast, get back on the Resort Monorail on the 4th Floor of the Contemporary and the next stop will be the Ticket and Transportation Center.

I would leave about 20 to 30 minutes to travel from your car after parking it to the Contemporary for breakfast at Chef Mickey's.  You may be able to get there sooner if the stars align and the Monorail is waiting at the station.

Another option is to park your car right at the Contemporary Resort parking lot as long as you are planning on leaving the Contemporary parking lot after your breakfast.  Just tell the Cast Member at the guard booth that you have a breakfast reservation at Chef Mickey's and he or she will let you park your car there.  Keep in mind that if you plan to go to Magic Kingdom after breakfast it is better to park your car at the Ticket and Transportation Center for the day.

I hope you have a magical breakfast at Chef Mickey's!

    Keep Dreaming Big!
