Hi Courtney, welcome to planDisney!
Disney magic looks different at every age and every stage. As a toddler, my daughter adored the colors and sounds of "it's a small world." As a preschooler, she loved getting warm hugs and autographs from her favorite characters. In her early elementary years, she grew to love thrills like Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Expedition Everest - Legend of the Forbidden Mountain. As a tween, my daughter now loves snacking her way around Walt Disney World Resort and staying up late for nighttime spectaculars.
It's safe to say our daughters are at different ends of the princess spectrum, Courtney. Your daughter's all about the dress and my daughter's all about the hair, nails, and makeup. During my daughter's recent makeover at
Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at Magic Kingdom Park, we were directed to wait outside the boutique's entrance until five minutes before our appointment. After checking in for the appointment, we hung out in a waiting area until a friendly dressmaker invited us back to the dress shop. My daughter politely declined the dress options and opted for her own dress and boots. The post-makeover pictures taken during a
Capture Your Moment photo session reveal the joy and confidence in her choice.
The dress shop at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at Magic Kingdom Park is relatively small and reserved for Guests with makeover reservations. Based on your daughter's dress desires, I suggest you head across the street in Fantasyland to
Sir Mickey's, instead. There are no dressing rooms, but if you find the dress her heart desires I recommend heading to the
Baby Care Center (not just for babies!) located by
The Crystal Palace for the costume change. Before or after the royal makeover, ask a friendly Sir Mickey's Cast Member for a special dose of pixie dust.
Enjoy all of the mother/daughter bonding that's coming your way, Courtney. The best is yet to come, I promise!
Choose magic,
Jennifer
