Hello there, Chris, and welcome to
planDisney! I'm excited to see that you have a trip planned to the Most Magical Place on Earth in December. The holiday season is my favorite time of year to visit. Everything is dressed up in its holiday best and it just feels so festive!
Chris, I think you'll be happy to know that, yes,
park hopping has returned to the Walt Disney World Theme Parks. We saw it come back in early January of this year. With its return did come a few changes.
Here's how park hopping is currently working:
- Guests wishing to park hop must have valid theme park admission with the park hopper option
- Guests wishing to park hop must have park pass reservations for each day they wish to visit a Walt Disney World Theme Park
- On the day of, Guests must scan in and enter the theme park with the park pass reservation first. This sort of "activates" the park hopper feature each day
- Park hopping hours now start at 2:00 p.m. and last until each park closes in the evening
- It is not necessary, or even possible, to hold multiple park pass reservations for one day. You only need the park pass reservation for the first park you plan on visiting each day
- To make park hopping a little bit more convenient at this time, complimentary park-to-park bus transportation is currently being provided
Park hopping is my favorite way to spend a Disney day. I love spending the early mornings at a Walt Disney World Theme Park. I enjoy crossing off a bunch of must-do's before lunchtime when I feel like the parks tend to be their busiest. I oftentimes will then spend the afternoons by the pool at the Walt Disney World Resort Hotel that I happen to be staying at. Then, when hunger strikes, I like to hop over to Epcot to enjoy snacks and drinks around the
World Showcase for dinner. It's a great day!
I hope this helps break down park hopping a little bit more for you, Chris. If you have any other questions before your trip, please feel free to stop back by and
ask me. I'm here to help. Have fun and happy planning!
