Am I allowed to order an appetizer as my entree on the Disney Dining plan or will I be charged for an appetizer?

    Hi Samantha,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!  What a great question.  I have requested the exact same thing a few times while at Walt Disney World Resort and have had a couple of different responses.  While I have usually been able to substitute an appetizer for an entrée, sometimes it will take a while in order for the cast member to see if it is in fact possible.  On one occasion, (at a signature dining restaurant) my request was not granted.  It has also been my experience that cast members are more open to substitutions during non-peak times.

To be sure, I called Walt Disney World on your behalf, and the "official" response was that replacing an entrée with an appetizer is not normal procedure, but the Cast Members do want to make guests happy and will do everything they can to accommodate specific guest requests.  The advice I can offer is to explain your request and hopefully the cast member will be able to accommodate.  It is my experience that the advice the cast member did give is true.  Disney does want their guests to be happy, and they will do everything they can to make your dining experience positive.

I hope that helps Samantha.  If you have any other questions, please come back and visit the Disney Parks Moms Panel again.  I would be happy to help!
