Am I allowed to leave my dogs at the Port Orleans hotel on arrival day before checking in so we can go to the parks?

Hi there, Jazmin. Welcome to planDisney

Disney's Port Orleans Resort Riverside is one of the few dog-friendly hotels on property. I think it is so fun that you are taking them to the most magical place on earth. However, when you check-in to your resort hotel there won't be a place for you to leave your furry friends at unless your room is ready.

However, there is a doggie daycare located on Walt Disney World property that you might be interested in checking out. Best Friends Pet Care offers daily daycare or overnight care depending on your needs. They open up one hour prior to the Walt Disney World Theme Parks opening time and stay open one hour later so you can pick up your pup after a fun-filled day. This might be something that would work out for you on your arrival day.

A few things I wanted to mention about keeping your dog in your room at Disney's Port Orleans Resort Riverside, Jazmin. When you take them outside, they must remain on a leash at all times. 2 dogs are allowed in a room at one time. When your dog is in your room, you will not receive housekeeping unless you are present with your dogs. If your dogs are making too much noise, you might be called and asked to head back to your Walt Disney World Resort hotel room to check in on them.

I hope you are able to work out something for your dogs on your arrival day. If you have any other questions, please feel free to stop back by and ask me. I'm here to help.

    Have fun!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
