    Are we allowed to hire our own photographer to shoot our engagement photos at Disney Springs ?

    Hi there, Dorian! It is so good to welcome you to planDisney. 

    Congratulations on your engagement! What a happy time this must be for you and your special someone. There is no better way to commemorate this than through some special photographs to cherish forever. I hope you will soon be headed to Walt Disney World to celebrate this time in your lives!

    I’ve contacted Guest Services and done some research regarding your question. Technically, while you are free to take photos yourselves while visiting Disney Springs, there is no outside commercial photography allowed, and no overly large tripods or other photography devices, as outlined in the Walt Disney World Property Rules. However, there are many other options that I am sure will capture this magical time for you!

    First off, Disney Springs has a wonderful Disney PhotoPass Studio available, where you can have photos taken with a variety of different backdrops and special props that would add some pixie dust to your engagement photos! Also, if you have Memory Maker added to your My Disney Experience account before your trip, there will be no extra charge for this service, and the photos will be all yours! Also, this would give you the ability to own any photos taken by PhotoPass photographers all over Walt Disney World, and all of those photos would be yours as well. After your trip, you will be able to share these and use them to make any prints and/or photo books you choose! Plus, there are also special effects such as Magic Shots and other individual enhancements that PhotoPass photographers can add to your photos to make them that much more special. Lastly, check out ShopDisney before your trip for some incredible bride and/or groom accessories that you’re sure to love!
