Would I be allowed to take engagement pictures with my photographer at one of the Disney resorts or Disney boardwalk? Not for commercial use. Just for my wedding day.

    Hiya Savannah,

Welcome to planDisney! Congratulations on your engagement! I’m wishing you so much happiness as you embark on this new chapter into Happily Ever After!

As someone who has Walt Disney World Resort as part of so many of her most important memories, I love that you are looking to do the same. From your question, I can see that you may have taken a peek at the Walt Disney World Resort Property Rules, which state that “photography, videotaping or recording of any kind, or otherwise engaging in any activity, for unapproved commercial purposes” is prohibited. When I spoke to a Cast Member, they stated that while personal photography with your own camera or mobile device is permitted, having an unauthorized photography professional take them is not at this time.

I hope this was helpful, Savannah. If you have your heart set on taking pictures at Walt Disney World Resort, you should look into a Capture Your Moment photo session. These are short sessions taken within Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, or Animal Kingdom. I reserved one for maternity photos, and the photos were incredible. The PhotoPass photographers made it feel like we were the only people in the parks, and we had so many incredible photos that captured such a special moment for us. Another option is to reach out to Disney Fine Art Photography and Video to see what they can offer you outside the theme parks. Congratulations again, Savannah, and best wishes. Please come back and see us if you need anything else.

    Happy Planning,

    Ashley F.
