Hi Briana! Welcome to planDisney! I'm sure you and your little ones are extremely excited about your upcoming visit to the
Walt Disney World Resort! With so much to see and do, you are going to have a blast when you are there!
Being a dad of two young princesses, using a stroller while exploring the theme parks is an absolute must. Touring the parks as an adult can be exhausting, so I can only imagine the toll it takes on them. I easily rack up over 20,000 steps on any given park day. I would definitely do yourself a favor and plan on using a stroller during your visit. Carrying around a tired toddler in the Florida summer is not an ideal situation.
Briana, you can absolutely bring a personal double stroller from home to use at the parks! I've done this on many occasions and has helped us save by not having to rent one. You might even get lucky and have them catch a mid-afternoon snooze while you stop for some shopping and snacking. The comfortability of using your own stroller helps in this scenario.
There are
size limitations on what you can use. The stroller must be no wider than 31" and no longer than 52". As for wagons, they are not permitted to be used at the parks. I personally think you'll have an easier time navigating around using the stroller anyway, as wagons can be a bit more difficult to steer.
If you did not want to bring a stroller from home, you will have a few options to rent one while onsite. You can
rent a Mickey-themed double stroller toward the entrance of all four theme parks. This is a great option if you only wanted to use them to get around the parks and not at any other point on the trip. Before leaving the park, you will need to return it to where you rented it from. If you prefer to have a stroller outside of the parks and at your resort, there are several companies that you can rent from for your entire length of stay. Many of these companies will also include a drop-off/pick-up service directly to the Disney Resorts Hotel you are staying at. You can reserve and schedule this prior to arriving on vacation. Simply perform a Google search for stroller companies near Walt Disney World to find several options.
Briana, I hope this information helps you on your upcoming visit! If you have any additional questions or need some tips for your stay,
