Ahoy there, Kassandra! Welcome to planDisney. Thanks for taking the time to sail by with your great questions for us!
My hair tends to get super frizzy with the humidity and my flat iron is a lifesaver while on vacation, especially when it’s a Disney Cruise getaway on the open seas! During my last sailing on the Disney Fantasy, I was able to bring my good ol’ flat iron (brand is Remington) and use it in the stateroom to style my hair. I plugged it in an outlet by the vanity/desk and was able to style my hair in front of the mirror without issues. On the other hand, my sister-in-law brought her Dyson Airwrap and was not able to get it working for her unfortunately.
Disney Cruise Line provides a handy
list of prohibited items, with
electrical specifications on the voltage and wattage for hair dryer (220V/2000 watts max or 110V/1500 watts max). Since there are more powerful gadgets that combine both hair drying and styling capabilities on the market these days, it’s important to pay attention to the voltage and wattage of the appliances you bring onboard to not overload the ship’s electrical system. For your convenience, each stateroom has a small hair dryer for Guests to use. This also means freeing up some luggage space, which can equate to more room for souvenir and merchandise!
I hope this information is helpful for you, Kassandra. As you continue to get ready for your upcoming cruise, please don’t hesitate to sail by
planDisney again if you have more questions for us.
Hope to SEA ya real soon,
Kiki
