    Are you allowed to bring cooler bags and bottled water into any of the parks? Are all bags serched when we come into the park. Do we go through detecters. My kids are young and will be concerned

    Hi Anne!

         Yes, you are permitted to bring a small cooler with bottled water into the parks as long as it is not a rolling cooler and the bottles of water are plastic not glass.  I would recommend that you bring a small soft-sided cooler that can fit in a backpack or small bag because you will be carrying around whatever you bring into the park all day long.  Yes, all bags are manually searched by security officers, so you will have to open all zippers on your bags for them to inspect.  This bag searching procedure is not invasive and should not alarm your young children.  If you are concerned about their reaction, you could explain ahead of time the bag checking process to your children.  Once they see it once, then there should be no issues for future bag searches.
