Are we allowed to bring Advil or ibuprofen into the park?

Hi there, Lisa. Thanks for taking the time to visit us on planDisney again. We’re so glad you’ve stopped by with your question for us!

As a mother and a registered nurse, I try my best to ensure my family is well prepared for our visits at the Disneyland Resort theme parks. I typically bring the basic “first aid” supplies such as alcohol prep, antibiotic ointment, moleskin, bandages, and of course, pain relievers. I’ve brought into the theme parks over-the-counter acetaminophen (Tylenol, for example) and NSAIDs such as Advil or Motrin through security at bag check without issues. I’ve also brought in prescription medications (clearly labeled with the drug names) without encountering problems at bag check.

If, for any reason, you fall ill during your visit at the Disneyland Resort, did you know there is a First Aid center located in each park? There are registered nurses there to provide basic medical care. Additionally, if you have medications that require refrigeration, you can go ahead and drop them off for storage at the First Aid center. It’s one less thing you need to worry about carrying around the parks, allowing you the opportunity to enjoy a magical day at the Happiest Place on Earth.

If you have more trip-planning questions, please feel free to write us again. We’re all EARs!

    See ya real soon,

Greetings from Northern California! I have been fascinated by the magic of Disney since I was a little girl; now that I am a mother of two, I love watching my children experience Disney Parks through their own eyes. I am also surrounded by fellow Disney-loving nurse friends whom I enjoy quick adults-only Disneyland Resort escapes with. Whether you are planning your once-in-a-lifetime family trip or a short adults-only getaway to the Happiest Place on Earth, I am here to help!
