Hi All, Just returned and started planning next years trip - looking into DCL to Bahamas. Anyone know the weather in April vs. August. Looking to avoid larger crowds in April, but worried about temp. drop in August. Many magical Thank yous!

    Hi Annette,

Welcome to the Moms Panel!  Unfortunately, the the weather is one thing we simply can't predict!  Regardless of when you book your voyage, there is always the chance that the weather will be less than desirable.  This is one of the things I love about cruising - the Captain can modify travel paths and itineraries as an attempt to avoid severe weather -  which is something you simply can't do when vacationing on land.

In the Bahamas the average temperatures in April are upper 60's for a low and lower 80's for a high, whereas in August you are looking at lows in the 70's and highs in the upper 80's (fahrenheit).  It's worth mentioning that rainfall is typically greater in August, and this is technically within hurricane season.

I actually just took the 4-night voyage to the Bahamas this past August and was pleasantly surprised at the weather.  I was expecting oppressive and brutally high heat and humidity levels, but had nothing but beautiful sunshine and warm breezes.

So personally, I wouldn't hesitate to take advantage of the lower crowds and better rates of the August season.

    Good luck with your decision!
