Hi Allison! Thanks for all your planning help! For Illuminations-any places to sit&watch the show beside the restaurants? We can't get ADRs &my family won't be able to stand to wait for&watch the show. Is it visible from the fountain in France

    Hi Sabrina,

You are so welcome! I had to do a little research on your question & turned to some of my panelists for suggestions.  Viewing for IllumiNations is better near the World Showcase Lagoon so while you may be able to see some of the fireworks from the fountain in France, you won't be able to see the globe where they project a large portion of the show.

If you can get there early enough and there isn't a private event, the area between the UK bridge and the France bridge is a good place. There are stairs down into it and you can sit on the ledges of the big planters too. However, if there is a private event, this won't be an option.

There are a few benches in Morocco, and again in Germany and China, but the benches unfortunately usually have obstructed views of trees or rocks etc.

I was also told that another place to see IllumiNations without dining reservations would be a counter service in the World Showcase. Hacienda in Mexico is a good spot with an outdoor seating area & its right on the water.  You'll have to get there super early though. Even though I haven't had a chance to try it, I've been told the food is yummy so that will help pass the time.

Another other spot that is sort of close is Norway but you'd have an obstructed view.  In case you find yourself sitting on the ground (at least until the show begins and then hopefully your party can stand for it), bring a towel or a small stadium cushion to make you a little more comfortable during your wait. Both should easily fit in a backpack.

Don't give up on ADRs though.  Keep checking up until the last minute in case their are cancellations.  I will so keep my fingers crossed for you!

As always, wishing you many magical memories :-) Allison
