Great to hear from you again Teresa!

The 2011 Disney's Princess 1/2 Marathon Weekend is scheduled for Feb 25th - 27th, 2011 & brings women of all ages together to participate in a magical event designed just for them. Disney Princesses are the inspiration for the weekend's events which focus on attributes that every princess possesses: commitment, courage, determination, fantasy, perseverance & strength.

The 1/2 Marathon is scheduled for Sun, 2-27-2011 at 6 a.m. & begins & ends at Epcot. The course goes through the MK & Cinderella Castle. Participates must be at least 14 & runners under 18 must have a parent's permission. It is a timed race & all participants must maintain at least a 16 minute per mile pace. Anyone not able to maintain the pace will be picked up & transported to the finish.

Costumes are encouraged but cannot include a face mask for security reasons. Strollers, baby carriers, etc are not permitted in the 1/2 Marathon. Head phones are permitted but discouraged.

This event focuses on women but men are welcome. Men receive the same amenities but are placed in later starting corrals & are not eligible for individual awards.

Weekend events also include Disney's Royal Family 5K on Sat, 2-26-2011 at 7 a.m. which begins at Epcot. All ages are welcome but participants must run on their own unless registered for the Stroller Division.

Disney's Royal Family Kids' Races (ages 13 & under) takes place on Sat, 2-26-2011 at 10 a.m. at ESPN WWOS Complex Track & Field.

To register for either of these events, click here. I'm out of space for this answer so please visit me again & resubmit your 2nd question. Wishing you many magical princess filled memories :-) Allison
