Hi Allison. Is the Jack Sparrow thing at the Studios the same as the Jack Sparrow tutorial at Magic Kingdom. Thanks

    Ahoy There Scott!

I am a huge Captain Jack Sparrow fan so I was very excited to experience The Legend of Captain Jack Sparrow at Disney's Hollywood Studios. This is an interactive experience where Captain Jack invites Guests young & old to join his crew. But first you must pass tests including a large sea storm, the rage of the kraken & a fierce pirate battle. This experience includes some loud noises & special effects that may frighten some younger children. Many people want to be up front but to me you're able to get more of the full effect a bit back. The Disney Parks Blog did an excellent piece in Nov 2012 about working with Johnny Depp on the making of The Legend of Captain Jack Sparrow.

Captain Jack Sparrow's Pirate Tutorial at the Magic Kingdom is also an interactive experience. Its held on an outdoor stage in Adventureland across from the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction. This one is geared toward young buccaneers who want to join Captain Jack's crew. He selects a few young volunteers from the audience & teaches them some very useful pirate techniques like the art of "distract & flee" to defeat your opponent. Its super cute. At the end he invites all willing boys & girls to take the oath & join his crew. After the oath, they all receive a membership scroll.

Both of these unique experiences are awesome & I'd recommend all pirate & Jack Sparrow fans to check them out.  Please feel free to visit again with any other questions.  We're hEAR to help! Wishing you minnie magical memories. Allison
