Hi all,Great panel...My family and I are taking a trip to WDW Jan 4-Jan9 of 2009...Can you give me insight as to how the crowds will be? I have read in numerous books/travel journals that this is typically the best time to go due to the return to school.

Hi Jason.   The books/travel journals are right - this is a terrific time to visit if crowds are a concern.

My experience is that Christmas / New Years crowds start to thin out as you enter the weekend after New Years.   I see you plan to arrive on that Saturday (the 4th).  I would expect that starting Sunday and definitely as you begin the following week, crowds should be very reasonable.    January is generally a slower time to visit -- outside of first few days and a slight pick-up over Martin Luther King weekend.

One other note, plan accordingly for cool weather.   I live in Florida and temperatures can drop quickly (particularly in the evenings) and you want to make sure you pack accordingly.   Hope this helps!
