Hello, Keanya! Welcome to
planDisney.
Thanks for bringing me your question! I'm so excited you are planning a trip to the
Disneyland Resort, my favorite place.
A big decision when planning any trip is air travel. Fortunately, you have options when flying into Los Angeles, CA for your Disneyland Resort vacation. Both John Wayne Airport (SNA) and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) are great options. Let's discuss each airport:
SNA:
- About 15 miles away from the Disneyland Resort.
- Smaller airport, easier to navigate.
LAX:
- Approximately 40 miles from the Disneyland Resort.
- Larger airport, more flight options.
While I have heard more Guests prefer to fly into SNA for convenience and proximity, I have only flown into LAX for my Disneyland Resort trips and have no complaints. I don't think you can go wrong with either of them. It depends on what flights are available to you, how you plan to arrive at the resort from the airport, and your budget.
As I mentioned, another factor to consider is how to get to the resort from the airport. I have used rideshare services via Lyft from LAX, and highly recommend requesting a Lyft Black or Black SUV. While it is a pricer ride type, it is a more comfortable ride and you will be picked up curbside at the arrivals lower level instead of taking the free shuttle to the ride app/taxi pick-up area at the airport for standard Lyft rides.
The Disneyland Resort website
lists other options for how to get to the resort from a variety of airports in the area. There are taxis, shuttles, and buses--so many options to choose from!
Keanya, I hope this answers your question. Please feel free to
ask me another question if you need anything else. Happy planning!
Your Pal,
Alejandra
