Hi Caroline,
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thank you for your question. My family really, really enjoyed being on the Disney Dining Plan on our vacation earlier this year, and one of the best parts was trying specialty cocktails and beverages at the various restaurants we visited. I just know you are going to have fun with it too!
Caroline, you’re right that Guests aged 21 and older may order one alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverage as part of their meal entitlement on the
Disney Dining Plan. Snack entitlements cannot be used for alcoholic beverages, so you would not be able to apply a snack entitlement to your meal to cover your cocktail, beer, or wine. If you’d like to order an additional beverage, you will be able to do so by paying out of pocket – my husband and I have done this many times, and it’s easy to work out with your server. I find that the restaurant Cast Members are simply wonderful when you’re using the dining plan, so please be sure to ask any questions you might have when you’re dining.
Enjoy your upcoming visit to Walt Disney World! Don’t forget to read the
Disney Parks Blog as you get closer to your visit, because they often feature new dining and snacking options around the parks and resorts, and many of these will be excellent uses of your Disney Dining Plan. I have a very long “to-taste” list for my upcoming vacation…and now I have a “rumbly in my tumbly” just thinking about all the magical snacks I’ll soon be trying.
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
