Welcome aboard, Jennifer -
You will absolutely love sailing on the Disney Wonder to Alaska. It's gonna be a vacation that is epic all over - and the magical memories that you'll be making will last a lifetime. The 7-night sailings to Alaska offers quite a bit of adventure for cruisers of all ages. The mesmerizing beauty and peacefulness is absolutely priceless. This voyage really is spectacular and very different compared to all the other Disney Cruises around the world.
I must admit, our luggage for this Alaska trip seemed to be 1.5 times more than our usual trips. There's that extra bulk of jackets, sweaters and our nice comfy boots. You can't be sporting just your sandals and flip flops on this trip, unfortunately. There's always a chance that schedules could change, so make sure you read the daily Personal Navigator to reconfirm suggested attire for dinner in the evenings. For 7-night sailings, the usual Cruise Casual applies to most nights. The 2nd night is usually Formal or optional Dress Up night. The Semi-Formal night is usually on the 5th night. It's up to you on how dressed up you want to be for Formal night, but it's the perfect time for those family photos with the Disney Cruise signature backgrounds. My kids love getting their photos taken at the atrium on Formal night, since the Disney Photographers have their complete setup before and after dinner. These photos make great souvenirs.
I hope this helps. Let us know if you have any other questions, 'coz we are always glad to help! Check out this video from my fellow Disney Mom, Nancy... she offers
great tips for cruising in Alaska.
Happy planning!
