In Alaska, did your family have private excursions since you were filming? According to DCL, the Rainforest Adventure excursion runs from 2:30-7 PM which does not allow us to do anything else but you got to visit the Totem Poles plus do the Lumberjack show

    Hi, Penny!

Yes, we were treated to a "sampler" approach to Alaskan Port Adventures since we were on a tight production schedule and so that I can answer questions for guests based on a variety of experiences.  You may not can vary your shore excursions in Ketchikan, but it's worth looking into for Skagway and Juneau.  My thought is that if a family is going to the expense of traveling that far away from home to such a unique destination -- you're going to want to take advantage of making sure you see all that the ports have to offer.  The Port Adventures Team will be able to advise you on which ones compliment each other's schedules while in port.

Let me know if you need more mom-to-mom advice -- I love hearing from you!  Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation.

    Bon voyage,
